Le style Tarantino peut-il rencontrer l’univers déjanté des Looney Tunes ? C’est possible. Bienvenue dans l’univers explosif des “Bad Guys” — la franchise Dreamworks qui propose au grand public un univers unique entre action, rédemption, et pur fun visuel. Dans ce nouvel épisode de The Animashow, mon invité est Pierre Perifel — réalisateur et animateur français chez DreamWorks Animation, à qui l’on doit le succès mondial Les Bad Guys, et désormais Les Bad Guys 2, qui sortira en 2025. De son parcours aux Gobelins à sa montée fulgurante à Hollywood, Pierre partage avec passion son amour pour l’animation stylisée, l’importance d’un regard européen dans un grand studio américain, et la liberté créative qu’il a su défendre dans un système souvent formaté. Ensemble, nous revenons sur l’écriture d’un film de genre, l’évolution des personnages, la gestion d’équipes internationales… et ce qui fait, selon lui, le cœur d’un film d’animation : une émotion sincère, portée par des choix de mise en scène forts.
