The genre comes mainly from disco music of the 70s and to a lesser extent euro disco, italo disc, electro, soul, dub, synth pop, rap, jazz, groove and funk music. The term for this type of music comes from the name of the Warehouse club. The use of sampling in the music of the 1970s also contributed to the creation of this genre.
House music is characterized by a dance rhythm, sung inserts and melodic line based on the sound of classical music instruments, e.g. violins, piano, and guitar. Among the remixes there are "dub" versions that feature a prominent bass line.
